Welcome to the new 2012 FIRST Robotics Competition! We finished the 2011 Wash DC Regional with a ranking of 24th out of 63 robots.
— Our meeting location is at Hayfield Secondary, room 001. We meet five days per week during build season: Monday-Thursday 2:30-5:30pm, and Saturday 9:00am-12:00 noon. Occasionally we may move meetings to evening hours, depending on adult mentor availability. Parents and sponsors are always welcome at our meetings, no prior appointment is necessary.
— Our robot is available ‘on the road’ to visit our sponsors and potential sponsors for demo. Please contact the administrator to schedule a visit.
This is the wiki for the Team 614 Robotics Club, located in Alexandria, Virginia. We are an after school club activity sanctioned by Fairfax County Public Schools. Our members currently come from Hayfield Secondary and West Potomac High. We are housed by and meet at Hayfield Secondary. Each year we build a wireless controlled robot and enter it in the nation-wide robotic competitions sponsored by US-FIRST.
Membership is open to all interested middle and high school students. We also welcome interested adults to join us as mentors. A technical background is not necessary. Please contact the administrator for more information. In your email please include your name, grade, telephone number, and email address. If you signed up at one of our recent “Back-to-School” nights, and are not receiving our emails, it’s possible we are misspelling your email address. Again, email the administrator.
Team 614 is non-profit with no paid staff. Each year the team is completely dependent on the financial contributions of individuals and community businesses. Contributions are used to purchase the robot kit of parts, pay competition fees, miscellaneous after market ‘robot enhancements’, and to defray travel expenses. The team has defined platinum, gold, and silver sponsorship levels, but contributions of any amount are gratefully accepted. Please contact the administrator for more information.
Team 614 members use this site to record, exchange, and save information useful to the team. Wikis are useful tools for workgroups, because they are easily editable by ALL users who have the correct permissions. Once you have edit permissions, you can add, delete, or change information on the wiki pages. This keeps the wiki current, and insures that workgroup members have access to the latest status and updates. If you are a member of Team 614 and would like to receive edit privileges, see the NOTICE below.
For examples of how to edit this Wiki, click on the ‘Wiki Usage’ link in the Navigation Sidebar. The ‘Other Links’ list is a collection of useful external pages of interest to Team 614. ALL Team 614 members are encouraged to use and to edit these pages!
