Team 614 generally participates in the Washington DC and Richmond VA regionals. (in 2011,financial constraints resulted in Team 614 only attending the Wash DC regional. Participation in the National Competition, which will be in St Louis, MO, is also a possibility. Participation in the Nationals will involve a significant financial commitment both for the team and parents. In addition to this is travel/hotel/meals expenses for the mentors and students for travel to St. Louis and back. Travel expenses for the Nationals are generally borne by the individual mentors and parents. The team has not yet decided if we want to incur this expense this year.
2012 Fees - The initial registration fee of $5000 includes the 2012 FRC robot ‘kit’ and the 1st Regional Event. The fee for participating in a 2nd regional is $4000. Generally the team tries to compete in 2 regional events. Occasionally the team has also opted to attend the National Competition. The Nationals fee is $5000. The team can invest up to $3000 of our own money into after-market parts for the robot. How much we can do will depend on donations from our sponsors and team fundraising.
